Wuxi National High-Tech District (WND), founded in 1992, was given administrative status and named Xinwu District in February, 2016. With a total area of 220 square kilometers and a population of 720,000 people, WND has been the economic engine behind the opening-up of Wuxi. Wuxi High-tech Zone has attracted over 28 billion US dollars of foreign investment and over 1,700 foreign invested projects. 64 Global 500 MNCs have invested 127 projects in the Zone.

EU Project Innovation Centre (EUPIC) is the only project innovation centre of EU in China founded in 2006. As non-governmental organization, it shall facilitate business and technology cooperation between EU countries and China. It is an international collaborative platform jointly supported or built by the Chinese and EU governments. As a specialized service agency and international project implementation platform, EUPIC is committed to promoting all-around partnerships between China and Europe in Science-Technology-Innovation, trade, culture and investment.
The main aspects of the role is to give a range of assistance to both European and Chinesse companies who want to establish themselves in China and Europe respectively.
