Located in the heart of the Yangtze River Delta and directly adjacent to Tahau Lake, Wuxi is an emerging center of industry and modern lifestyle in China<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tai Hu Lake is one of the largest freshwater lakes in China. Along the lakeshore are footpaths, a 115-meter-high Ferris wheel and parks such as Yuantouzhu (Turtle Head Island). Another important park is Ling Shan with various famous Buddhist sites, including the bronze Great Buddha, which is over 80 meters high.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Attractive economic center<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Administrativ gliedert sich die Stadt in f\u00fcnf Stadtbezirke \u2013 Liangxi, Binhu, Huishan, Xishan und Xinhu. Ebenso geh\u00f6ren zwei kreisfreie St\u00e4dte \u2013 Jiangyin und Yixing \u2013 zur Verwaltungseinheit Wuxi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Due to its up-and-coming economic development, Wuxi is often referred to as \"Little Shanghai\". It is one of East China's economic centers and the second most important city in Jiangsu Province after Nanjing. It was the first city in this province to establish an industrial park for foreign investors. According to a ranking by the business magazine Forbes in 2008, Wuxi is one of the most attractive Chinese business locations. It took third place in the list of the best business cities in mainland China. Textile processing is traditionally of great importance, but is increasingly being displaced by companies in the electrical, mechanical engineering and automotive industries, as well as high technology. This is how the National Supercomputing Center was established, which was equipped with the most powerful supercomputer at the time in 2016. Wuxi has become a center of Chinese solar technology and at the same time an attractive location for international companies such as Sony, Konica Minolta, Panasonic, Bosch and smaller companies such as Agfa and Vaillant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Educational Core for attractive work environments<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Wuxi has two universities - Jiangnan University (\u6c5f\u5357\u5927\u5b66) and Taihu University Wuxi (\u65e0\u9521\u592a\u6e56\u5b66\u9662). All relevant degree programs are offered at Jiangnan University, with a total of more than 30,000 students enrolled in the 69 degree programs. Taihu University Wuxi is a private university located near Huishan National Park (Huishan National Forest Park, \u60e0\u5c71\u56fd\u5bb6\u68ee\u6797\u516c\u56ed).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, there are a further eight universities and universities of applied sciences, some of which are specialized, as well as nine colleges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The orientation of further education towards German principles is particularly noteworthy. The Wuxi Vocational College for Mechanical Engineering and Electronics is a state-recognized vocational college that is managed directly by the Wuxi Education Bureau. It is regarded as a model vocational school for vocational training reform and development at a national level. The school focuses on five-year vocational training and technical education and training in four specializations: Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Automation Control, Electronic Information Technology and Art Services. It has been part of the PASCH network since 2014, allowing students to learn German on a voluntary basis for three years. To round off the activities organized by the Goethe-Institut in recent years, the school has hosted interns from Germany, two-week internships at the Flensburg Chamber of Crafts and the cooperation with two partner schools in Germany.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, the iVWA - Internationale Verwaltungs- und Wirtschafts-Akademie gGmbH opened its first training and study center back in 2005. Together with its cooperation partner Jiangsu College of Information Technology (JSIT), the iVWA began training 112 \"Azudents\" in the fields of Automotive Management, Logistics Management and Multi-Media Design Management in Wuxi. The combined training and study courses in English lead to the Advanced Diploma, which is recognized by the People's Republic of China, as well as business administration (iVWA) and IHK\/AHK certification. The three-year combination of training and study is divided into alternating periods of academic and practical qualification, with between 80 and 90 % of the lecturers coming from Germany.\nIn addition, the iVWA is active in China as a seminar provider for the Shanghai Labor Bureau, among others, and advises service providers on all matters relating to entrepreneurial activities in China.

Historical development leads to a valuable cultural heritage<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The origins of the city of Wuxi can be traced back to the Zhou Dynasty<\/strong> \u5468\u671d (1100 to 256 BC) in the 11th century BC, when the two princes Taibo<\/strong> \u6cf0\u4f2f and Zhongyong<\/strong> \u4ef2\u96cd founded the first state in the Wuxi area. Initially, the state was still called Wu<\/strong> \u5433 and after the two brothers helped to develop and build agriculture and waterways, the area was soon to flourish economically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the Spring and Autumn Period<\/strong> \u6625\u79cb, the state of Wu developed into one of the most powerful empires. During the Qin-<\/strong>-\u79e6\u671d(221 to 207 BC) and Han Dynasty<\/strong> \u6c49\u671d (206 BC to 220 AD), tin deposits were discovered, which led to conflicts in the said area. During this period, it became a center of tin mining, which gave rise to the city name Youxi (\u6709\u932b \/ \u6709\u9521 - \"has tin\"). However, the deposits appeared to have been mined relatively quickly, which presumably led to the current name Wuxi. This translates as \"no tin\" (\u65e0= nothing; \u9521 = tin).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the Ming<\/strong>\u660e\u671d (1368-1644) and Qing<\/strong> \u6e05\u671d (1644-1911) dynasties, Wuxi was already an agricultural center with a focus on national rice production. During this period, the city was also fortified and canals were built to supply water to industrial sites and for transportation. Until founding of the People's Republic of China,<\/strong> the textile industry as well as light and heavy industry were the economic focal points of the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the opening up of China and cooperation with industrialized nations, the economic importance of Wuxi increased. Today, Wuxi is seen as the most ambitious city for prosperity and civilization in southeast China, with a lively exchange with foreign countries. This provides a good foundation for investment and business development in both conventional and innovative industries.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
